The Anthem STR integrated amplifier uses the renowned ARC calibration system, which is recognized by thenadAnthem. ARC is considered one of the most accurate professional audio calibration systems on the market. What is ARC?
Simply put, Anthem Room Correction quickly “corrects” the effects that reflective surfaces such as walls, floors, and ceilings have on the sound radiating from a speaker. Removing the effects of these obstacles allows your audio equipment to achieve a more natural sound in any room, as close to laboratory standards as possible.
On a more complex level, ARC is proprietary digital signal processing software that works with a specially designed calibration microphone and computer to quickly and easily optimize the sound for your space.Anthem engineers developed the ARC system while researching how to replicate laboratory-grade audio standards in non-laboratory environments. This groundbreaking research was conducted in collaboration with the National Research Institute of Kanade, the organization for research and technology kanadgovernment.
Now you know what kind of heart is built into the Anthem STR and for good measure, let us tell you that system setup is quick and easy. The 3rd generation ARC also recognizes calibration of up to two subwoofers in mono or stereo mode for all 2.1 or 2.2 systems.
YES Converter and functionality
It allows conversion of lower resolution sources up to 32-bit/192kHz, while the asynchronous USB audio input supports 32-bit/384kHz PCM and DSD 2.8/5.6 digital sources. The other digital inputs support resolutions up to 32-bit/384kHz.
