High-tech drive units and housing

Sonetto The G2 features a Damped Apex Dome™ (DAD) silk tweeter. This unique design reduces distortion and improves high-frequency extension for clearer, more detailed highs.

The speaker uses a three-way design. Below the tweeter is a 6,5-inch woofer.redCamelia, a new tonearm with a unique floral shape that prevents resonances that could blur the sound. ThisredThe subwoofer was originally designed for the high-end Suprema line of speakers.

Tweeter and withredThe two drivers are housed in a specially designed sealed cork enclosure, another technology carried over from the Suprema line. This enclosure provides optimal internal volume for rich and natural sound detail.

Under theredThe speakers are equipped with two 6,5-inch woofers that handle the low frequencies. Both include an aluminum demodulation ring to reduce distortion during the movement of the voice coil and motor structure. The edges of the woofer, inspired by the shape of flower petals, act as wave breakers and prevent harmful resonances that could affect the sound.

Concrete base to reduce vibration

Sonus faber chose concrete as the base for this tower speaker, which reinforces the housing and provides additional stability. The concrete effectively dampens resonances and prevents external vibrations from affecting the sound. Redsome speakers use concrete in the base plate design, which is one of the features with which Sonus faber stands out from the crowd.

Channels are carved into the concrete base, which merge into an axis.redIt features a wide chamber called a “reflex channel” that acts as a downward-facing port for the woofer. This thoughtfully designed channel allows for optimal airflow, regardless of the speaker’s placement in the room.

Nadthe dawn of internal pressure

The V G2 model uses the company's renowned Intono technology Sonus faber. This addresses an often overlooked aspect of speaker design: internal pressure. When moving the drivers, especially during more energetic sections of music and soundtracks, internal pressure within the cabinet can cause a loss of sound quality. Intono helps balance the pressure between the internal acoustic chamber and the reflex channel, ensuring a clean, clear and consistent sound.
