Turntable pads have long been a hot topic of debate among vinyl lovers – and for good reason. The contact between the record and the pad affects the sound, which sensitive turntable heads detect immediately.
While classic felt pads provide a soft contact between the record and the tray, they suffer from static electricity, which attracts dust and then transfers it to the record. In addition, their ability to dampen vibrations is limited, which can be a problem with metal trays.
