On the 50th anniversary of one of the best-selling albums of all time!
Gramophone Pro-Ject The Darkside Of The Moon – Artist Collection
Heinz Lichtenegger and his team clearly have a sense of humor. In 2022, they launched a turntable designed as a tribute to Metallica, shaped like the famous Metallica logo. No prizes for guessing who this turntable is a tribute to. Pink Floyd's Dark Side of The Moon is one of the best-selling albums in the world and is pred recently celebrated its 50th anniversary.

It's not all black.
Not only the music of the album “The Dark Side Of The Moon”, the album cover: the black background, the prism and its play of colors, that’s all that’s on the album cover of “Dark Side of the Moon”. And that’s apparently all it takes to be considered an exceptional work of art, one of the best of its kind. Everyone knows immediately which album it is, there are countless variations and allusions to this unique cover. But one thing that hasn’t existed before – at least as far as we know – is a turntable that takes this particular motif.
The album design is almost as famous as the album itself, and Storm Thorgerson's colorful prism on a black background is so iconic that many recognize it.
It depicts a mysterious prism that reflects rays of light into space. A magical and mystical theme that illustrates the complex sonic world of the band. ForPro-Ject was very clear: to create a turntable from this work of art that reproduces the dynamics and colors of the original album.
The result is an exceptional turntable like no other. They have retained the essential design aspects of the work of art and combined it with high-quality materials. The base is made of MDF, which provides the perfect base. The stainless steel axle of the heavy aluminum auxiliary platter is mounted in a bronze bushing.
A flat silicone belt forms a connection with the AC motor, ensuring stable speeds.
The low-resonance tonearm is a completely new design and certainly one of the highlights of this turntable. Its combination of black aluminum parts and acrylic is an absolute eye-catcher.
The included special edition Pick it PRO is tailored to the overall concept and delivers the rich sound you would expect from a Dark Side Of The Moon turntable.
Combined with the rainbow LED lighting, the turntable looks even more impressive while you listen to your favorite records in the dark.
